IS SUGAR THE ENEMY?



Sugar! It’s the twenty first century health nightmare! That monster, waiting round the corner to destroy you. There are countless books, websites, articles and television shows that have chronicled its evil effect on your health. Diabetes, obesity and more health conditions have been blamed on this monster. 

 Let me not beat about the bush, sugar is the enemy; however it is a qualified enemy. In its refined state it is pure evil, only your taste buds love and crave it. Sugar is more of a foe, but can also be your friend, you will never escape it, in its friendlier guise sugar is present in all carbohydrates and fruits you consume and in this form it provides you with energy without which you just cannot function, and this is the sugar your body and brain crave.

Do not be afraid of sugar, the trick is to understand it and use it to your advantage. Conquer it like the cave men conquered fire! Reduce to the barest minimum your consumption of white foods: white sugar, white rice, white bread, packaged fruit juice, soft drinks etc. Replace them with honey, brown rice, whole wheat bread, whole fruits etc. Your taste buds will rebel but don’t worry they will get used to it!. The rewards for this healthier choice include; reduced blood sugar, improved metabolism, weight loss, reduced risk of diabetes and my personal favourite, an improved sex life!
Let me be frank,you will occasionally relapse and indulge your taste buds, dont let that deter you, get back on the wagon! My advice to you on controlling this is to indulge yourself with one cheat meal once a week,where you can eat whatever you like,just to get the craving off your mind, and you will be fine.
