ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION! HOW TO FIGHT OFF POWER FAILURE!

Last week I wrote about the terrible twins; PE and ED. Today I want to write to you about Erectile Dysfunction (ED) remember my friend in the Pharmacy who was asked about “PE OR ED?” I never did find out which he was suffering from, but let’s not let that derail us. ED is a problem that goes to the core of every man, if you suffer from PE at least you attempted it! With ED the horse just doesn't want to leave the stable! According to statistics we have all suffered some form of ED at one time or the other if you haven’t don’t feel smug, it’s a matter of when not if as we age. ED causes a lot of personal issues and can also cause relationship issues with a spouse or girlfriend as she starts to wonder ‘what’s wrong? Doesn't he find me attractive any more? Is he cheating? The thoughts are endless!

Today I want to break it all down, the causes, effects and solutions to ED are not as complex as you think. It’s kind of funny when you think about how much terror the fear of ED inspires. If you tell a man about his risk of heart disease he might laugh at you, tell him he risks impotence and his ears stand up! This article is not just tailored towards the guys, ladies can learn a lot too and if your man falls into this category it will help you understand what he is going through. Let’s start at the beginning:

WHAT IS ED?

Erectile Dysfunction(ED) or impotence is a health condition in which a man cannot develop or maintain an erection during sexual performance. A penile erection is the hydraulic effect of blood entering and being retained in sponge like bodies within the penis.

WHAT ARE THE CAUSES OF ED?

There are many causes of erectile dysfunction but the most likely and important causes are; cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity, smoking, certain drugs, ageing and psychological conditions brought about by performance anxiety, stress and negative feelings.

Note that psychological impotence is in a special class as it is the only ED condition that is caused by thoughts and feelings rather than a physical condition in the body. It is not the most common but can be devastating. It can be triggered by intense emotional or even financial issues and can damage a man’s feeling of pride and self-worth.

WHAT ARE THE NATURAL MEANS OF FIGHTING ED?

With age we lose power, speed and endurance in all facets of our lives, I am willing to bet you can’t run as fast as you did when you were 20! The same goes for our erections. However this condition can be mitigated and here are some of the best ways to reverse and prevent ED:

1.       EXERCISE MORE:

According to a Harvard study, just 30 mins of walking a day was linked with a 41% drop in risk of developing ED other research has also shown that regular exercise including cardio workouts like aerobics and lifting weights about 3 to 5 times a week can help restore sexual performance.

2.       EAT RIGHT:

Research has shown that eaten a well-balanced and nutritional diet is one of your best weapons against ED. Avoid processed foods as much as possible as the contain ingredients that can block your arteries leading to reduced penile blood flow and impotence. Instead eat a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains and fish. If you cannot for some reason get plenty of fruits and vegetables in your diet, then i seriously recommend a daily dose of multivitamins and minerals. It will be of great help to you, especially vitamin B12.

3.       PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR VASCULAR HEALTH:

High blood pressure, high blood sugar and high cholesterol can damage arteries in the heart (causing heart attack) arteries in the brain (causing stroke) and arteries in the penis(causing ED) always monitor your vital health numbers because the better they are, the less likely you are to suffer from ED. Find out your condition and make the necessary lifestyle adjustments.

4.       QUIT SMOKING:

A lot of smokers will want to tune out at this junction but sorry you need to hear this; smoking is not good for your penis! Smoking causes your arteries to harden and restricts blood flow hence it hinders your erection. It is a slow process and manifests slowly but surely. Need I say more?

5.       GET SLIM AND STAY SLIM:

A trim waist line is one of the best defences against ED. The slimmer you are the less likely you are to suffer from ED. A man with a 42 inch waist is more than 50% likely to develop ED than a man with a 32 inch waist. Research has shown that slimmer people carry less fat in their mid-sections which means less fat blocking arteries leading to the penis. Getting to a health weight and maintaining it is a good strategy for preventing or reversing ED. Obesity raises the risk for heart disease and diabetes, two major causes of ED.

6.       MASTER THE PC EXERCISE:

Remember the PC exercise? (Check out last week’s post on PE!) Well it turns out that it works in defeating both of the evil twins, strong pelvic muscles enhance rigidity during erections and helps to keep blood from leaving the penis by pressing on a key vein. Do your PC muscle exercises 3 times a day while urinating to build your strength down there!

7.       NATURAL HERB SUPPLEMENTS:

This is always tricky as there are a million brands out there promising quick results, whichever brand you decide to buy please be very careful. I personally recommend herbs containing or better yet made up of; Horny goat weed, Yohimbe, Tribulus and to a lesser extent Maca and l-Argenine. They have been proven to be the most effective in treating PE. Remember that you have to be patient when taking this herbs, long lasting results will take a couple of months and some financial commitment on your part.

Well that’s it all in a nutshell, hope you find the information useful and remember if you don’t need it a friend might, so pass it on!

Thank you, and do have a wonderful day.
